Maureen McTeer will be a key note plenary speaker on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Conference to be held in Ottawa, Canada. This year’s theme will be “Changing the National Perspective on Hospice Palliative Care”. Ms. McTeer is the author of the book “Tough Choices: Living & Dying in the 21st Century”.
Maureen McTeer will deliver the keynote speech to the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (ISCEBS), Toronto Area Chapter, on November 18, 2010. The theme of this educational seminar will be Medical Decision-making in the 21st Century. Ms. McTeer is a medical law expert and lectures on issues of genetic testing and its current and future impacts on the insurance industry, access to private health insurance, and individual privacy. She lectures on law and genetic policy, including on the new U.S. Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, 2008, (GINA) at the Washington College of Law’s Health Law Project at American University in Washington, D.C.
