Among other activities in September, 2010, the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark will participate in the Annual Summit of the Stern Stewart Institute at Schloss Emlau, Germany, September 9-11 and will address the conference on the topic of philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility.
In mid-September he will travel to Washington D.C. to attend the meeting of the Advisory Committee to the Africa Program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, of which he is a member.
On September 30, he will deliver the keynote address in Montreal to the international Conference on “the Consequences of German Unification”, sponsored jointly by the University of Montreal and McGill University. As Secretary of State for External Affairs, Mr. Clark chaired the “Open Skies” Conference which yielded the formula which led to German unification. The “Open Skies” conference, in Ottawa in the late 1980s was the first joint meeting ever of Foreign Ministers of NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
Mr. Clark’s commitments in October include his participation at the special session titled “A Conversation with the Chancellor” at Trinity College, University of Toronto, October 27, and the Annual Meeting in Amman, Jordan, November 6, 7, 8 of the Global Leadership Foundation, of which he was recently named Vice-Chairman.
