Ottawa –August 1, 2004 – The Right Honourable Joe Clark and Maureen McTeer will join the faculty of American University in Washington, D.C., for the academic year beginning September 1, 2004.

Ms. McTeer has been named Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the Washington College of Law and at the School of Public Affairs, and a Senior Fellow in the Center for North American Studies. She will teach at the Law School, and help build the School’s formal arrangement with the Faculty of Common Law at the University of Ottawa, where Ms. McTeer has been named Adjunct Professor. Her responsibilities at American University will include working closely with the Women and Politics Institute there.

Mr. Clark has been named the first Distinguished Statesman in Residence at the School of International Service, and Senior Fellow in the Center for North American Studies.

Mr. Clark has also accepted a three-month appointment, beginning October 1, 2004, as a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
